Having facilitated over 20 teacher trainings and graduating hundreds of people, we have found that becoming a yoga teacher is a special and important role in our society. Yoga teachers have in many cases replaced counselors, friends, advisors, and spiritual guides for many people. The scope of this website isn't to discuss whether or not that responsibility should be bestowed upon us as yoga teachers, but to acknowledge that it often is and so deciding to become a yoga teacher should be considered upon with intention and thoughtfulness.
We have a fabulous training with multiple trainers who are experts in their area and a broad based approach to teaching yoga so that you will learn five different styles of yoga, traditional yoga sutras, spiritual anatomy, physical anatomy, and so much more! We even include a weekend yoga retreat as part of our 10 week training! You'll get more experience actually teaching than any other program in the Southwest. The course is focused on personal development, yoga tradition, and how to teach a safe and personalized yoga class. You will work on developing your authentic voice.
We take your becoming a yoga teacher seriously. We want to give you the best possible experience that we can and that means getting to know you before you register and helping to determine if this is the right training for you. We consider all the factors when deciding whom to accept. Alignment with our vision and a desire to see this world through the lens of love is most important in our decision making. Physical fitness, years of practice, and Instagram fame are the lowest factors in the process. So just be yourself, that's the only person you can be.
This training is for people who are ready to change their lives, take initiative, make it happen, and be of service others. Students with high ethics who are willing to be on time to every class, support their fellow students, do the extra work it takes to make it through the challenge teacher training imposes on their lives. This training is for people who want to gain a lot of real time experience teaching in live classes, assisting, observing, and learning. If that sounds like you, then read on and get ready to apply for one of the most transformative experiences of your life!

We believe that Yoga Teacher Training should be an inclusive as possible. Our goal is to teach you a little bit about as many styles and types of yoga, philosophies of yoga, and directions and paths you can take in your yoga career so that you can make a decision about what you want to spend the rest of your life studying. 200 Hours can barely break the surface of this centuries old practice; but we want to set you up to learn where you'd like to go and be prepared to teach a solid class before graduation.
You'll get a free pass to practice unlimited yoga during your teacher training program. Some of the classes will be practice, some observation, some you'll get to teach portions! In lecture class, we will go over commonly used asanas, Sanskrit, and teach you how to sequence. You will be able to teach Vinyasa, Power Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Nidra, Bhakti, and Meditation. You'll get to experience even more types like Acro Yoga!
You will begin to develop your own style of teaching. Your authentic voice will come out and you will learn to be you on the studio floor. We'll teach you safe and effective yoga adjustments, how to give and receive touch. We will explore together not just the physical side of yoga, but the emotional and spiritual side. You will "clean up your side of the street" so you can learn how to be of service to others.
We cover in depth the Yoga Sutras, basically Patanjali's bible of yoga. You'll be able to learn and discuss from a traditional perspective what a yogi is and how to use yoga as a way of life. This background in the Sutras, including discussion of the 8 limbs of yoga, will help you to have a more comprehensive education in yoga so that you can teach your students more than just physical exercise.
Many aspiring teachers don't know, but anatomy in yoga is more than just the physical! During the journey through the Chakras, you will learn through lecture, yoga, and personal experiences. Most graduates say this was their favorite part of the program! Our Physical Anatomy instructor will take you through the physical body, and its applications to teaching yoga in a practical way that is approachable.
Over 6 Years ago we opened the doors at Sin City Yoga on a quest to bring community and love to Las Vegas. Today we have moved to a new location and have firmly established ourselves as a place locals and tourists from all over the world call home. We have regular classes, workshops, and teacher trainings. Here's just a few things about our teacher training, and there's so much more to explore!
In our ten week yoga course only, you will get a yoga retreat, included with your tuition! The retreat is mandatory for graduation because we cover a lot of coursework during the retreat. What's wonderful is that you get a chance to really immerse yourself in yogic lifestyle and bond with friends. Many students find this to be the most enjoyable part of our yoga teacher training course. We are the only training in the southwest that includes a yoga retreat as part of the 200 Hour Training. The retreat is not included in the 3 week intensive, because, let's be real, it's already like a retreat!
Our 3 week intensive yoga course runs Monday-Friday from 7am to 6:15pm. We know not everyone has a nights and weekends schedule and we wanted to create a training that our tourists could attend! If you are traveling to Las Vegas to take this training, let us know, and we'll make some housing recommendations.
The 10 Week Yoga Course is Mondays and Wednesdays 6:30pm-9pm and Saturdays 10am to 6pm plus two classes a week of your choice off the regular schedule. This course also includes the weekend retreat which starts on Friday at 6pm and ends on Sunday at 11am. Transportation is not included; however, car pools will be organized.
Make sure you have about an hour to complete the application. You will want to answer all the questions in the application thoughtfully and honestly. Some of the happiest graduates were people who had only studied yoga a month before starting training. Length of study doesn't determine your compatibility for the program. Throw away any expectations you might have going into this, just be yourself! We want people to really think about why they are becoming a yoga teacher. You will work hard during your time in yoga teacher training and we want to make sure you are ready.
After you are accepted to the program, you have 5 days to make your $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve your space in the training. Your deposit secures your tuition price. I would highly recommend Sin City Yoga for teacher training certifications. I felt completely ready to teach a variety of yoga classes and comfortable with giving hands on yoga assists. I was trained by very experienced teachers. If you are looking for a complete training where you learn more than just how to do poses, this is the training for you! After completing a life changing yoga teacher training, I enrolled in the 300 hour yoga training to gain more knowledge, insight and wisdom. -Tianna, Spring 2017
I first came to Teacher Training at Sin City Yoga so I could further my practice of yoga; what I learned was truly more than that. My practice has undeniably improved 10 fold, but my heart has mended. I was lost and everyone else at the studio, guided me to find my true self. I came looking for knowledge. What I found was a home. They say home is where your heart is. The friendships I've made, and the love I now have, I will take with me forever. Sin City Yoga is heart, love, passion, and transcendence. I haven't found a more perfect place to practice YOGA. -Kayla, Spring 2013
I researched many places to find yoga teacher training. After careful consideration, I chose Sin City Yoga. I was not disappointed with my decision. The training was professional, thorough, challenging and rewarding. I liked that we had different teachers for parts of our training including anatomy, philosophy and different types of yoga as well as the asanas. The yoga studio is welcoming and all of the teachers are wonderful. I highly recommend Sin City Yoga. -Kandy, Fall 2017
I did my Teacher Training at Sin City Yoga. From the moment I walked into the studio I knew it was creating the type of community I was searching for in Vegas. There is a wide range of classes with some very talented teachers. The new studio is absolutely beautiful and each class that I have taken there has been great. I have no favorite teachers, just a favorite studio and its definitely Sin City Yoga. -Gabrielle, Spring 2015
