Sin City Yoga is known as the most established and respected yoga school in Las Vegas. In 2013, we were listed as one of the top four Best of Las Vegas yoga studios by the Review Journal. We are #2 best of Yelp in the city of Las Vegas for yoga studios. Our teacher training is listed as #1 on Yelp in Las Vegas. People love our teacher training program because it is comprehensive, challenging, and well developed. At the same time, you won't lose the personalized touch. You'll get all the hugs, the love, and the warmth you expect from a yoga training because our program is deeply entrenched in the 8 limbs of yoga.
Sin City Yoga has graduated some of the most successful yoga teachers in the world. A higher than average number of our graduates turn into yoga teachers. Graduates of our program have gone on to open their own yoga studios, travel the world teaching yoga, and can be found throughout the country teaching at studios, gyms, and elsewhere. Teachers from our training have gone on to found yoga retreat organizations in Florida, Yoga Studios in the United Kingdom, yoga classes on the beach in Costa Rica, corporate yoga, philanthropic yoga, and more! We teach you to not limit yourself to just teaching at yoga studios. Instead we teach you how to create your own movement.
Teacher Training at SCY features small, intimate, personalized class sizes. You will get direct exposure to the lead teacher with lots of in class time to ask questions. You will get real experience teaching classes both in the classroom and at our live classes while in teacher training. You will graduate and feel confident in your teaching ability. This training will challenge you, emotionally and physically. Your long held beliefs will be challenged in order to help you develop your own authentic voice. Our teacher training is based on building community and personal style. "If I could give this studio 100 stars, I would! I am just over 2 weeks away from completing my 200 RYT training with Angelica at Sin City Yoga. Before my teacher training journey began in early Aug. I had been strictly self taught for 5 years. In just a few short months the teachers AND students have become such an over-whelming support system in my life. The atmosphere and personalities there have become crucial to progressing my yoga practice. Sin City Yoga is not only a phenomenal place to come and connect with your body, it also is warm, welcoming place to free your mind. I'm so grateful to be a part of the SCY family and I encourage ALL LEVELS of yoga practitioners to visit the studio. You will not be let down!" -Shannon Rivituso (Las Vegas, NV) Fall 2014
"When I first walked into SCY I was looking for a 200 hour Teacher Training program. I took a class from Angelica to see if this indeed was the studio for me. She had me crying by the end of class because I was aware that this was EXACTLY the place I needed to be. I am proud to say that I am a teacher at SCY where the hugs are free and the people are positive. I learned so much at the Teacher Training that I have recommended it to many, even just as a way to expand their knowledge and love of Yoga." -Kat Hartmann (North Las Vegas, NV) Summer 2012
"I have been practicing yoga for a couple of years now and I have found Angelica to be one of the most authentic people I know. I have also been enrolled/registered and participating in the teacher training class she offers at her studio. I have participated in many training and development programs and I love going to Angelica's class. If you are considering taking teacher training take her class. If you are considering yoga or love yoga, take her class. I believe you will love the authentic, generous, committed and compassionate way about Angelica and benefit from being with her." -Paul Kotler (Henderson, NV) Summer 2012
"There are great balances and comprehensive invaluable lessons learned through the 200 hour Teacher Training course at Sin City Yoga. It has completely changed my awareness & consciousness of my body. It taught me a lot about my own resistance in my daily practice, to learn to work with it instead of against it. It has given me an opportunity to experience & focus on something I love. Bringing continuous health & happiness to me and the people around me. With a deeper understanding on asana and anatomy, this course has driven and inspired me to expand myself and share with others, at a more confident level, which I can grow from - a starting point as a yogi. Angelica's teaching in a round robin setting was an eye opener. Doing it in a circle, sharing with and learning from the beautiful teacher, and supportive classmates, had created a very good vibe and synergy among us students. I felt very much supported in the general energy throughout this course." -Angie Buck (Parump, NV) Summer 2012
"I first came to Teacher Training at Sin City Yoga so I could further my practice of yoga; what I learned was truly more than that. My practice has undeniably improved 10 fold, but my heart has mended. I was lost and Angelica, as well as everyone else at the studio, guided me to find my true self. I came looking for knowledge and what I found was a home. They say home is where your heart is. The friendships I've made, and the love I now have, I will take with me forever. Sin City Yoga is heart, love, passion, and transcendence. I haven't found a more perfect place to practice YOGA." -Kayla Duncan (Las Vegas, NV) Spring 2013
"I came to Sin City Yoga for teacher training with Angelica without ever attending any classes at her studio. I know it was a leap of faith, but after viewing her website I felt confident in the choice I made. After meeting Angelica and taking classes with her and her other teachers I never looked back. Sin City Studio studio embodies everything that is needed to keep yoga true to it's core. The studio has the tight knit family feel that most studios are missing. All of the teachers at the studio teach yoga with physical and spiritual aspects that challenge you and take you to a place you have never been before. Take the leap of faith and try at least one class. After you do, you'll never look back! You'll be changed forever!" -Ala Sciacca (Summerlin, NV) Spring 2013
"I took Angelica Govaert's 200 teacher training in May 2013. Upon completion I cannot tell you how happy I am to have had this experience. Truly life changing. I love this studio and it has my full support. I am very grateful to have met and learned from so many beautiful people. Definitely a downtown gem! Come for the love of yoga!" -Juliana Mayor (Las Vegas, NV) Spring 2013

For me, teacher training had been something I wanted to do for a really long time. I researched all programs in Las Vegas and finally decided on Sin City, which turned out to be the best choice I could have ever made. I have been practicing yoga on and off for years, but this experience helped immerse me far deeper into my practice than I imagined. Not only does Angelica have an outstanding love and knowledge of yoga, she is so much fun to be around. Throughout our journey I learned everything that is needed to become a well rounded yoga teacher, plus much more. I expected the physical part, but was pleasantly surprised by the spiritual growth and lifelong friendships that I gained. Thank you Angelica and Sin City Yoga, I feel so blessed! Namaste." -Jada Hunt (Las Vegas, NV) Spring 2013
Hello Applicant to Teacher Training!
After hosting over 15 teacher trainings and graduating well over 100 people, we have found that becoming a yoga teacher is a special and important role in our society. Yoga teachers have in many cases replaced counselors, friends, advisors, and spiritual guides for many people. The scope of this application isn't to discuss whether that responsibility should be bestowed upon us as yoga teachers, but to acknowledge that it often is and so deciding to become a yoga teacher should be considered upon with intention and thoughtfulness.
Over the years we have seen a trend that some question to discover a program's curriculum and teachers prior to enrolling; however more often, the two most common questions of interested teacher trainees are when is your training and how much does it cost? We found that sad because those criteria should be the last questions asked. Your experiences are more than dollar signs and dates. You deserve to be attending a training of integrity that serves your higher purpose. The training you are applying to now is a life experience that is inclusive of many styles of asana yoga and the entire 8 limbs of yoga. This application will assist you in going deeper to explore the reasons why you want to become a yoga teacher and why this particular program will assist you in that.
When I first decided on a program I had only the criteria that it be yoga alliance certified, over the past 11 years I have come to find out that programs are widely different and that certification by YA doesn't mean application of their standards by yoga schools. Some schools are based in asana, some skip the sutras, some are corporate, others focus on particular styles of yoga, some teach you only the sequences at their studio. All trainings that are YA certified cost within a couple hundred dollars of each other, $200-$500 shouldn't determine a once in a lifetime experience. Think of the difference between conventional produce and organic, there is a price difference but the effects and quality are quite different as well. You deserve the best for you whether it's food or yoga. You deserve to see the world with a bigger lens than the dollar sign. This is your life, live it!
Our teacher training is a program that will challenge you physically and emotionally. Our teachers will ask you to look inside the deeper parts of yourself and challenge long held beliefs about what you think is reality. For some people this is difficult and for others who are ready, it's enjoyable. You must know how to self-care. You won't learn just asana in this course. You will learn how to live your dreams.
On a practical level, you will learn how to teach Vinyasa, Power Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Meditation, and Nidra. You will get more real time teaching in front of people than any other training in the Southwest, include two full classes, one to your classmates and one to the public. You will research and discuss the Yoga Sutras, journey through the Chakras, explore the history of yoga, learn to build sequences and meaningful classes, learn Sanskrit, understand ethics of teaching yoga, the power of touch and adjustments, spiritual and physical anatomy, Bhakti as yoga of devotion through chanting and song, and this is not an exhaustive list.
We hope that you do join us in making this a better world. We look forward to meeting you!
Blessings and Love,
